DEDALO

The DEDALO system is a passive drone detection solution based on radio-frequency technology. It enables continuous, automatic, and omnidirectional monitoring of drones in the surrounding airspace.

DEDALO consists of two units:

  • Drone Detection Unit
  • Command and Control Unit

The system is designed to be modular, scalable, and compact, ensuring easy transport, installation, and integration with additional sensors and higher-level command and control systems. Its installation is highly efficient, with minimal space requirements, significantly simplifying logistical aspects.

Use Cases
Prisons
Drones can be used to transport cell phones, drugs, weapons, and contraband items into prisons, allowing inmates to continue engaging in criminal activities.

DEDALO can be used to ensure comprehensive and automatic surveillance of prisons, protecting them from the threat of drones.

Critical Infrastructure
A drone attack on sensitive sites such as oil and gas refineries and chemical plants can have devastating consequences, both in terms of security and social utility.

DEDALO can be used to protect small, medium, and large industrial areas from the drone threat.

Events

Sport events, concerts, or public interest events are one of the main targets of terrorist attacks. Drones can cause significant damage if used to carry explosives or chemical weapons. DEDALO can be used to prevent these attacks.
Strengths of Dedalo

Compact architecture – allows installation without complex constraints
Flexible architecture – designed for both fixed and mobile installation
Ready to use – installs in just a few minutes
Passive system – undetectable by other devices
Successful performance – excellent cost/effectiveness ratio
Scalable – integrates with other sensors and command and control systems
Lightweight – easily transportable by the operator

Detection performance of Dedalo

AUTOMATIC
It detects drones completely automatically.

OMNIDIRECTIONAL
It detects drones coming from any direction.

FAST
It detects drones in seconds, even before takeoff.

Monitoring center

The Monitoring Center (MOC) is the graphical interface of the DEDALO system that provides the operator with a primary window for viewing the tactical scenario and a secondary window for:

• displaying the list of drones and their respective pilots identified by the system,
• displaying the frequency spectrum,
• setting the system’s operational parameters.

The Monitoring Center also offers the Recording & Playback function for offline analysis of recorded data.
