Quality and Certifications
Group 2

The ISO Certification System at Intecs is more than just a seal of approval; it represents the company’s relentless commitment to excellence and innovation.

Intecs was one of the first software companies in Italy to obtain ISO 9001 certification (certified by DNV, Det Norske Veritas) for the development of integrated hardware and software systems based on advanced, high-R&D technologies in sectors such as Defense, Aerospace, Air and Naval Traffic Control, Railway, Automotive, and Intelligent Systems.

Intecs’ Quality System was adapted to comply with EN 9100 (which includes additional requirements for the Aerospace and Defense industry), achieving certification in 2011, and to NATO standards AQAP-2110 and AQAP-160 (for defence products in NATO countries), achieving certification in 2017.

Intecs has developed specialised procedures to ensure compliance with different industry standards.

In 2005, Intecs was qualified by SCIROTÜV and TÜV Rheinland for conducting software assessments according to the CENELEC EN 50128 standard. TÜV also certified Intecs’ Safety Functional Engineers under the EN 61508 standard.

Since 2002, Intecs has participated in Process Improvement initiatives following the CMM® model (later CMMI®) in collaboration with Alenia Marconi Systems (later Selex SI and now Leonardo Defense), achieving Level 3 Maturity in 2005 for the Defense and ATC/VTS (Air Traffic Control/Vessel Traffic System) divisions. The improvement continued internally at Intecs under the CMMI® model, reaching Level 3 Maturity in 2009 for the Defense and ATC/VTS divisions and in 2010 for the Railway division.

In 2006, Intecs was qualified by Volkswagen to lead Process Improvement initiatives for its software suppliers, achieving capability levels under Automotive SPICE® (ISO 15504). That same year, Intecs passed an assessment for Level 2 (among the first in Italy) of Automotive SPICE® (ISO 15504), later extended to Level 3 in 2015.

In addition to the previously mentioned ISO 9001 (now 9001:2015), in March 2024, Intecs completed the Environmental Certification process in compliance with ISO 14001:2015 for its Rome headquarters. The goal for 2025 is to extend this certification to the Naples and Pisa offices.

Intecs has obtained ISO 27001:2022 certification (Information Security and Data Protection). This process involved updating existing procedures, templates, and models, creating new procedures, and ensuring company-wide awareness of proper information management practices, as required by ISO 27001.

Intecs participates in the STARS consortium for the Obstacle Detection System (SIRIO), a radar-based safety system for the railway sector, which now monitors over a hundred level crossings nationwide. Intecs contributed to its development and is now responsible for the integrated Quality, Environment, and Information Security system of the consortium, in compliance with the aforementioned standards.
